Our Story
Caledonia Tutors was founded in January 2018. In our 6+ years as a company we have grown from 1 tutor and 3 subjects to 130+ tutors and 29 subjects. We currently offer in-person tutoring to students living in Edinburgh and Glasgow and online to students living across Scotland, U.K. and Europe.
Having experienced first-hand the power of having a role-model, we are determined to make this a reality for our students. Belonging to the same generation allows a great rapport to be built between our tutors and their student that is not common in private tuition. Tutors, having recently sat the same or similar exams as their students, are acutely aware of their student’s needs. While our tutors will not have decades of teaching experience, we believe that what they lack in experience they make up for in passion, intelligence and integrity. With Caledonia Tutors students enjoy and look forward to lessons.
Meet the Team
Aidan Thomson
Owner
Aidan graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh in 2017. He founded Caledonia Tutors in January 2018. Aidan has 10+ years tutoring experience in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics. He now runs the company full time.
Harvey Wynn
Marketing Manager
Harvey is a 4th year Economics student at the University of Edinburgh. Joining Caledonia Tutors in August 2020, Harvey is the first non-tutor employee to join the team.
